 January 2008 Workshop

I recommend that all of my clients, with medical issues, experience at least one session of Biofeedback. This helps the client to see very clearly the mind-body connection, and increases the clients’ faith in their mind’s ability to control and heal their body.

I refer my clients to Linda Spain, MA for a Biofeedback session. Linda is warm and personable and she is very clear in her explanations of the readings on the Biofeedback equipment, and with techniques to assist a person’s healing process.

Linda Spain, MA

Linda Spain, MA is a counselor and biofeedback therapist specializing in behavioral medicine. Linda received her MA degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of the Pacific in 1988. Linda’s clinical experience includes two years with the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. In addition to her clinical work, she has been an instructor for the Behavioral Psycho-physiological Institute, teaching and training health care professionals in biofeedback principals and applications. Linda is a past president of the Biofeedback Society of Washington.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback is a treatment technique used to teach individuals how to control their body’s reaction to stress. Biofeedback is used in the treatment of stress-related disorders such as anxiety, headaches, hot flashes, irritable bowel syndrome, Raynaud’s muscle tension, hypertension, tachycardia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and pain management. Biofeedback is safe, effective, and non-invasive.

Biofeedback uses high technology equipment to measure various aspects of an individual’s physiology, such as heart rate, breathing, and muscle tension. Information on these measures are provided via a visual display and fed back to the individual. Under the guidance of qualified professionals, individuals learn to control their body’s reaction to stress and ultimately manage or abate problem symptoms.
